A twenty-year-old in top form
On Sunday, 13 September 2026, the CST and seven other locations across Ticino will open their doors for the twentieth edition of Sportissima. In Tenero, visitors will be able to try around fifty different activities, with something to suit every taste.
Organised by the Department of Education, Culture and Sport (DECS), the event promoting physical activity will take place from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be open to everyone. Children, families and adults will be able to take part and discover the wide range of activities on offer.
In addition to individual disciplines such as figure skating and climbing, participants will also be able to try team sports, including volleyball, floorball, curling and handball. The programme will also feature artistic activities, circus skills, various styles of dance, cheerleading and capoeira. The range of activities will be rounded off by disciplines such as table tennis, parkour, judo and stand-up paddleboarding.
Among this year’s new additions, weather permitting, participants in Tenero will have the opportunity to try cricket. Pro Senectute will also offer activities specifically for people aged 60 and over, including yoga, Pilates and postural exercise, while the Allez Hop association will provide Nordic walking sessions for adults. The DiverTiamo association will once again be present, promoting accessible diving courses for everyone, with a focus on inclusion, safety and enjoyment.
No registration is required, and the event will take place in all weather conditions. The sporting activities are free of charge and are open to participants from a minimum age that varies depending on the discipline. Further information is available on the official Sportissima website. Participants will also be able to use the CST’s facilities, including the bar, canteen and changing rooms.
