Aquafit

Aquafit is a physical activity that is practised in water – usually in a swimming pool. The water pressure takes weight off the body and minimizes the risk of stiffness and muscle strain. It is a discipline that can be practised by people of all ages, including non-swimmers. It is a complete sport, exercising the abdominal muscles, thighs, arms and shoulders. Regarded as a mild form of gymnastics, if practised vigorously it improves aerobic endurance. Background music is used to give pace and rhythm to training sessions.
