Sport climbing

Sport climbing is a discipline that involves scaling natural or artificial walls. It can take place outdoors or on indoor climbing walls. The climbs must meet rigorous safety requirements in order to minimize the risk of accidents during both the ascent and descent. Sport climbing is a very demanding sport, both physically and mentally. As well as technical skills, it requires strength, agility, a sense of balance, concentration and a tactical approach. In recent years, sport climbing has enjoyed considerable popularity as its various specialisms can be practised by people of all ages.

Facilities
CST has two climbing facilities:
- The Basodino tower features two top-rope climbing walls.
- The Naviglio gymnasium has one indoor climbing wall (top rope).
Each wall of the Basodino tower offers nine routes of varying difficulty, suitable for beginners and more experienced climbers alike. The indoor climbing wall in the Naviglio gymnasium offers 14 climbs of varying difficulty and uses a double pulley system.
CST provides all the necessary climbing gear (climbing shoes, harnesses, ropes, carabiners).
In the event of adverse weather conditions, climbers can hone their skills in the indoor bouldering room, Riazzino.
Safety
Groups are limited to a maximum of 12 participants for both the Basodino tower and Naviglio gymnasium, and 6 participants for CST's outdoor climbing facility. If necessary, groups can contact Sisport Sagl to book qualified instructors. For more information and details of the sport safety requirements at CST, please refer to the links on the right side of this page.
