In an emergency, please proceed as follows:

Accident
In the event of an emergency, you should take the following three steps:

        1. ASSESS – gain an overview of the situation

  • What happened?
  • Who is involved?
  • Who is the injured party?

        2. CONSIDER – weigh up the risks for the injured party and the emergency services

  • Danger to the injured party?
  • Danger to the emergency services?
  • Danger to others?

        3. ACT – protect yourself against potential dangers

  • Secure the scene of the accident
  • Administer first aid (if possible, remove the patient from the danger zone, ABC principle/emergency lifesaving measures)

First aid equipment is available from reception, the pool attendant, the equipment store and the campsite office. CST has four defibrillators.

Depending on the severity of the injury, you should either call an ambulance or take the injured party to the Accident & Emergency department at Locarno hospital.

  1. If you are unable to administer first aid, call the ambulance service immediately on 144.
  2. Send someone to the entrance to direct the ambulance driver to the scene of the accident.
  3. Notify CST of the incident by calling 111 (during business hours) or +41 (0)58 468 61 11 (24-hour hotline).
  4. Accompany the injured party to the Accident & Emergency service.

Fire
All buildings are equipped with modern fire extinguishers.
If there is a fire, leave the buildings by the escape routes that are displayed in the rooms and on every floor.
The assembly point is the Sassariente field.
Anyone who sets off the fire alarm intentionally will be fined CHF 200. If the fire brigade and police are deployed and cannot be stopped, a further CHF 700 will be charged.

Telephone numbers
In case of emergency, there are telephones in every building. There are also emergency telephones at the entrance to the "Sasso Rosso" accommodation building as well as at the sports equipment store (Naviglio building), the campsite and the water sports facility.
