Sports safety

Sports safety has always been a very important topic at the CST. Risky sports may only be practised under the guidance of G+S monitors, instructors and teachers with specialised training.

High-risk sports
As CST primarily hosts courses offered by Y+S, the respective Y+S guidelines are binding. If no Y+S guidelines exist for a specific sport, the guidelines or recommendations of the relevant national sports association apply.

High-risk sports must take place under the supervision of Y+S leaders, instructors or PE teachers with the necessary qualifications. This applies to the following disciplines in particular:

Y+S disciplines:

  • Group A: golf, trampolining, cycling (mountain biking, road racing, BMX), combat sports (fencing, judo, jiu-jitsu, karate, wrestling, Swiss wrestling).
  • Group B: mountain sports (sport climbing, mountaineering), archery, swimming-related sports (swimming, free diving, lifesaving, synchronized swimming, water polo, diving), water sports (windsurfing, sailing, canoeing [regatta and white-water], rowing, stand-up paddle boarding [SUP]).

Non-Y+S disciplines: scuba diving.

CST is unable to ensure constant supervision of activities in the swimming and diving pools or on the lake. Course instructors are solely responsible for the supervision and safety of their groups during courses in, near or on the water.

More sport safety information can be found in the document on the right-hand side of the page.

Instructors

If you are looking for instructors for sporting activities at CST, we would suggest you get in touch with Sisport Sagl. Sisport has worked in partnership with CST for many years and provides qualified instructors for all sports.
