The CST organises and hosts numerous fitness and sporting events such as Sportissima and Sportech.
16th International Symposium on Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming (BMS)
The 16th International Symposium on Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming (BMS) will take place in 2030 at the state-of-the-art swimming centre of the National Youth Sports Centre Tenero (CST), which will have been completed by then. This was decided by the event’s International Committee in mid-September 2026 in Porto Alegre (BRA). The Swiss Federal Institute of Sport in Magglingen (SFISM) will contribute its expertise, particularly in facilitating knowledge transfer between science and practice.
Sportissima
"Sportissima" is a day devoted to recreational sport. This event takes place every September in seven locations throughout Ticino, including the National Youth Sports Centre Tenero.
Ticino Talents Camp in Tenero (4T)
Once a year, promising young athletes from Ticino, representing some fifteen sports federations, gather at the CST for a week of training.
Sportech
Applied sport science and technology days are held at CST.
Euro 2008
In June 2008, the German national football team selected CST as its training headquarters ahead of the UEFA European Football Championship.
